It’s that time again! Yes, I’m talking about the two weeks in July where I basically take up residency in the sweltering heat of Las Vegas for NBA Summer League. This year I’ll be working for 2KTV and will be additionally doing some cool things with NBA Entertainment. A part from working, my favorite thing about Vegas is the food. At some point I’m going to start a food blog because I’ve tried so many great dishes in so many cities. I’m still dreaming about the shiitake mushroom buns from Momofuku LV in the Cosmo and the cactus tacos from China Poblano. I digress… back to basketball! Check out the recap from Vegas below:
Most of the time I worked with 2KTV interviewing NBA rookies after they got scanned for NBA 2K20.
I also worked with NBAE by doing some different things including a #grouptextcast where a group of us texted in a group chat that was shown on the screen during a broadcast.

The next things I did with NBAE was work the sideline for the first major sporting event ever to be shot entirely on smartphones. The game was broadcasted using 5G and was filmed using an array of six Samsung camera phones.
📱Get ready for the first ever sports broadcast in history to be shot entirely with smartphones during #NBASummerLeague for #ATLvsWas.#SmartphoneView is live now on the ESPN App and International League Pass!

I like the up-close sideline view the NBA is experimenting with…I wouldn't watch a whole game this way but certain highlights would look great from this angle. Maybe they could implement it during the playoffs/ nationally broadcast game as an extra camera angle #smartphoneview pic.twitter.com/kmaOPF6nIa

And I even got dunked over/on 😱
Yesterday @alexismorgan was being dunked over – twice – today she is juggling for @NBATV. #TheRealMVP#NBASummerLeague pic.twitter.com/BpFci4mRvE

They showed highlights of our game broadcast on SportsCenter!
We made history yesterday by producing the first major sports event exclusively shot on smartphones @RealAClifton @NoahEagle15 @PBenedictNBA. Thank you to all who made it happen and to the @NBA for being forward-thinking and trying different ideas! pic.twitter.com/oHTWMJ5axR

The finale in Vegas was the 2K party where people got to check out 2K20!
It was a great two weeks. Until next time!
